Hemel Storm are delighted to confirm the signing of Canadian guard Trent Monkman.
Monkman has attended the University of Victoria Athletics since the 2017-18 season and has been a key performer for the team competing in the Canada West and U Sports Championships.
Canada West Champions for a second successive year and U Sports final eight quarter finalists last campaign, Monkman has risen through the ranks and was a vital part of the roster, averaging 21.7 minutes and 11.1 points per game.
A dual-national, Monkman will add great depth and talent to the Storm squad as he looks to further his basketball career and everyone at the club is delighted to have him on board.
On making the move to Hemel, Trent said “I’m very excited to be joining Storm for this upcoming season. I’m thrilled at the opportunity to carry some momentum from last season’s playoff run and continue to build upon the club’s reputation for success.”
Trent will also continue his education in England, studying a Masters degree with the University of Hertfordshire, proud partners of Hemel Storm.
Make sure to welcome our new man and get behind him throughout the season as the side look ahead to another promising campaign on the horizon.
