Storm can happily confirm that dual-national guard Tez Allen will suit up for the Storm in the 23/24 campaign, after signing a contract with the Hemel side.
The 6ft5 guard attended Southern Oregon university for an impressive 6 years and competed for the basketball side for 4 after injury plagued his early years after joining from Carson High school in 2017.
Allen impressed at Carson, averaging 18 points and 10 rebounds in his senior year, and made his mark after a short lay-off as a freshman, starting all 30 games and averaging 6 points and 4 rebounds.
Tez pushed on and made his name known in the 18-19 season, where he ranked among the conference leaders in rebounds, assists and steals and had a huge impact, especially on the defensive end of the floor.
He continued to make his mark in 19-20, earning ‘Defensive Player of the Spring’ and earned a spot on the ‘All-Cascade Conference team’, a feat which he would later repeat a year later in his first senior year of 21-22, pushing his team into the CCC Tournament championship game. Tez showed his ability to provide in the clutch moments in the tournament’s stretch, scoring on 4 consecutive possessions to get his side over the line in the quarter-final and pulling out a buzzer-beating 3-point shot to clinch the semi-final victory.
Tez finished his time in Oregon with another successful year and joins the Storm as a league rookie, hungry to impress and eager to make a mark in D1.
Fans can be assured of Allen’s grit and on-court determination on both ends of the court and should be excited to see what’s ahead for Allen and Storm’s new-look roster as they line up for the new, fastly approaching season.
The side return to the StormDome this Sunday against Team USA Select; tip-off 6pm.
