Hemel Storm can officially announce the recruitment of exciting D1 prospect Veron Eze.
Eze continued to make a strong name for himself in British basketball last year, where he enjoyed a successful campaign at rivals Worthing Thunder. Eze put up strong numbers all year round and was a thorn in the side of the Storm as the teams tussled through the year, scoring 10 points in the regular-season ending showdown despite the Thunder’s 53 point loss to the Storm.
The 21 year old has had a strong start to his young career, coming through the Ipswich basketball academy set-up before spending a further year and a half at Barking Abbey School to push his development on, whilst making an impressive 20 appearances for GB youth sides at u16 and u18 level.
Veron burst onto the scene with an eye-opening first D1 season for Barking Abbey as a 17 year old, where he averaged 14.3 points and hasn’t looked back since, becoming a well-recognised face throughout the British basketball scene with a couple of strong seasons in D1, as well as gaining valuable experience with a period in the States competing for Augustana in NCAA D2.
Eze adds to a strong core being assembled by the recruitment team for the upcoming season, with hopes of another successful campaign building.
