Players’ Player of the season: Joint winners – Tez Allen and Brayden Inger

  • Both Brayden and Tez despite being new to the club epitomise Storm values, working hard for the success of something bigger than themselves, great people and great players
  • Brayden since joining the team has demonstrated the characteristics of a true professional, maintaining high standards of operation on and off the floor as well as sacrificing for the benefit of those around him. Brayden has hit some big shots throughout the season and provided that toughness needed against certain opponents.

    • “He lead by example being a team player and elevating us when we’re not playing up to standard”
    • “He’s a team player, always looking out for everyone”

  • Tez has literally played every single position this season for the side and done so with no complaints. Whatever the task is put on Tez he will give it his all for the benefit of the team and his teammates. A lot of what Tez does goes beyond the stat sheet but is truly recognised and appreciated by his teammates this year.
  • Team mates quotes on Tez were
    • “He always has a good attitude and is always laughing”
    • “He brings great energy on defence and his cool, calm and collected nature really helps at crunch times”
    • “Besides being a Chelsea fan, Tez has been a great asset to the team on and off the court. He has shown great professionalism all year. Tez has been awesome coaching in our junior programme. His nickname in the community is Tesla after the car brand. His room for improvement for the summer is to practice his golf swing!

Coaches’ Player of the season: Brayden Inger

Brayden is a high basketball IQ player who has always put into practice what the group needs. While he is an excellent shooter he contributes across the stat line. He does whatever he has to do for the group.

Volunteer of the Year Award - Callum Humphrey

We are lucky to have so many volunteers who give up their precious time to help us be the professional and growing club that we are.  With many worthy past winners it is hard to choose just one.

Callum has incorporated his love for writing with supporting Storm with their match night previews, match reports, new player announcements and lots more.  He can be relied upon to deliver quality pieces within short deadlines. He also plays a key role on the bench supporting his granddad by ensuring players keep hydrated and then has the pleasure of wiping up the sweat off the court when needed! He makes sure Sylla has his towel to wave and Michael has a pen! Being part of the bench has also increased his vocabulary greatly but unfortunately the new words learned cannot be used in his reports.

He is also a key part of the ‘team behind the team’ on match nights. Helping set up and clear up. Callum is a mature young man, always happy to help and has a great future ahead of him and we hope that his volunteering with us helps with his future career aspirations within sports journalism. Any of you who know the amount of work and stress that goes on in ‘The Humphrey‘ household courtesy of Hemel Storm will also appreciate why Callum is deserving of this award!!

Finally - Moment of the Season ! - Veron Eze buzzer beater vs Derby Trailblazers

  • Hemel Storm vs Derby Trailblazers

We were also delighted to celebrate the womens' first season with the Club.

It was great to see Steve Darlow back on stage wowing the audience with his "poem" about the season!
