Saturday 29th January: Derby Trailblazers 82-91 Hemel Storm (NBL Division One)
Sunday 30th January: Thames Valley Cavaliers 78 - 86Hemel Storm (BBL Trophy)
This weekend wasn’t to be for Storm as they lost both of their games against two strong teams; Thames Valley Cavaliers and Derby Trailblazers.
Saturday’s game was a narrow loss to recent L Lynch Trophy Champions Derby Trailblazers 82-91. Storm fought until the end but unfortunately came up short. Greg Poleon led the scorers with 23 points and 16 rebounds and Taylor Johnson playing the full 40 minutes, scoring 17 points and 9 rebounds. Derby showing they have one of the top defences in the league.
Sunday’s game was the first round of the BBL Trophy. It was a tough battle but unfortunately Storm lost 78 - 86 Thames Valley demonstrating why they are one of the top offensive teams, scoring points in quick succession. In terms of scoring Johnson had 17, Poleon 14 and Adeluola 11.
Storm now have to regroup as they come up against another very strong team Reading Rockets on Saturday 5th February at the Hemel Hempstead Leisure Centre. 7pm tip off. Tickets available at the door on the night, or in advance at www.stormbasketball.net
