Storm sign American firecracker Moton!

21/08/2024

Hemel Storm are thrilled to announce the signing of Tra’Michael Moton. The 6 ‘1’ guard, born in Louisiana, takes up the side’s second import spot after yesterday’s addition of Canadian Matt Ellis.

A sharpshooter, averaging 37% from behind the arc, Moton will pose a strong offensive threat, adding flare and great dynamism. He is guaranteed to bring an upbeat, energetic tempo and it should make for great viewing as his team look to shine on the court.

Having come through Woodlawn High School, the American earned a scholarship at Grambling State University in 2019 and he went on to stay with the ‘Tigers’ for a full five years.

Tra’Michael impressed throughout his time at the University, leading his side to their first ever NCAA tournament last year after winning the SWAC Tournament Championship where he was voted into the All-Tournament Team as MVP.

His efforts also earned him a place in the HBCU All Star game and after a successful graduation, Moton is ready to take the next step as he moves away from home and heads to Hemel for his first professional year.

On the challenge that awaits him, he says “I feel really blessed and grateful for the opportunity to be a part of something special and I’m ready to bring more excitement and hopefully many wins.”

With the season set to get underway very soon, fans can look forward to giving our latest recruit a warm welcome with the StormDome ready for action!

Tra’Michael joins an exciting roster assembled by Mark Clark and his men, so make sure you stay in touch and keep checking all our platforms to ensure you don’t miss out on the first glimpse of the side on the court!
