We are delighted to announce that Hakeem Sylla will remain an integral part of Mark Clark’s player group while he continues his positive recovery from the ACL injury he sustained last term.
In what will be seen as further momentum to Storm’s pre-season announcements, the club look forward to welcoming back Hakeem to the team environment, enabling the club to deploy our assets to aid his return to fitness.
While Hakeem may not have been present on the final day of the play-off winning season in Manchester in April - undergoing surgery on the injury picked up against Derby Trailblazers - his earlier contributions were arguably one of the main reasons his side made the league’s showpiece event. An average of 22.3 points per game saw him sit second in the whole of Division One and despite only featuring in 16 games, he remained in the top 10 of the total efficiency rankings.
We welcome the return of a player whose positivity and leadership has, and will continue to be, a key part of the club.
After overseeing 5 national titles across the past 2 campaigns, the whole club and our fans will be delighted to see Storm’s number one on the road to recovery and back inside the Storm family.
