Despite holding a 2-9 record, Elite will prove a tough challenge to Storm and will be hungry to beat the defending League Champions. Storm will need to be ready and prepared for what looks to be a fascinating fixture to start off the year.

London Elite play their home games at the Capital City Academy in Willesden and have progressed up the leagues in recent years. Led by Head Coach Daniel Szatkowski, Elite have recruited some well-known talent in the summer, many of whom will be familiar to Storm fans. Stalwart Walid Mumuni will suit up against the team for which he was a fantastic servant to as well as Charles Acquah-Davis, whose contributions in last season’s quadruple winning campaigns remain noticed by Storm. They have proved to Storm that they will remain within touching distance, battling for every possession and frustrating their opponents for the entire match. Storm must remain focused and ensure a good performance to avoid a potential upset.

As for Storm, they must continue their high level of performance from Nottingham, showing the togetherness and spirit to win by a narrow 6 points. The inside presence of Hakeem Sylla and the accuracy of shooting from the perimeter will play a crucial role as to who will come out as winners. Storm will not be able to relax, with Elite keen to implement their game plan to frustrate the away side. After a hard-fought 81-70 victory in the reverse fixture with only 28% of 3 point attempts made, Storm will need to start fast and gain control of the game.

It is sure to be an exciting encounter as Storm look to dust off the cobwebs from the Christmas break. A thrilling matchup awaits with Storm needing a victory to continue their pursuit up the league table. Despite Elite being towards the lower end of the table, they have shown on multiple occasions that they can challenge with the top teams and remain in the game until the final buzzer.
