Storm bolster squad with two BIG signings!

01/02/2021

Hemel Storm are delighted to announce the signings of Hafeez Abdul and Alex Scotland-Williamson for the remainder of the 2020/2021 season. Abdul, 6ft 6, and Scotland-Williamson, 6ft 9, will add some size, experience and talent to the roster.

Abdul will be remembered by Division One fans for his recent stint at Essex & Herts Leopards, putting up impressive scoring numbers of 27.1 points per game whilst pulling down 7.3 rebounds.

Since then, Abdul spent a season in Italy’s 4th Division with Adrano and opened this season with the Thames Valley Cavaliers.

Abdul’s scoring prowess, athleticism and defensive intensity will be loved by the Storm faithful and we hope this is the beginning of a long future for Abdul in the orange and black.

The addition of Scotland-Williamson will certainly strengthen Storm’s front court, the 6ft 9 big man joins us after recovering from a ruptured quad tendon and torn lateral meniscus that occurred against us in the 2016-2017 season.

Scotland-Williamson’s career began at Essex & Herts Leopards and went on to play college basketball in the US for Texas-PB and Lee Junior College before attending UAB, a Division One school. Scotland-Williamson also played for the Great Britain under-20 side in 2009.

Since graduating from UAB, Scotland-Williamson played in Belgium for Athletic BC Brussels and VOO Wolves Verviers-Pepinster, and then returned to England to play for the Essex & Herts Leopards. Scotland-Williamson’s effort on both end of the floors as well as his rebounding and rim protection will add to an already strong Hemel Storm roster.

Welcome Hafeez and Alex, we hope this is the beginning of a bright future for you both representing Hemel Storm!
