Anglia Ruskin University 107 – 62 Hemel Storm II

 (Division Three)

Hemel Storm II, sponsored by Certa Group Ltd, suffered a disappointing loss away to Anglia Ruskin University on Sunday.

The teams shared eleven 3 pointers in the first quarter which ARU edged by 2 points to lead at 23-21.  But that was as good as it got for Storm.  ARU’s energy and organisation paid dividends at both ends of the court and Hemel were only able to score a total of 20 points in the second and third quarters.

Hemel’s Mike Coumas scored 10 of his 13 points in the final period with some strong moves under the basket but it was far too little too late for the visitors.

Coach Allin said: “We were unable to control the tempo of the game and a disastrous second quarter was our undoing.  We’ll look to bounce back in our final game of the season next week at home to Essex Rebels.”

Scorers:

Nick Allin 17, Mike Coumas 13, Atif Khan 11, Shaun Allin 9, Daryl Craine 5, George Paisley 4, Ben Pearce 2, Mac Mavhangira 1, Jamie Wheeler, Dominic Charles

Storm II have their final home game of the season against Essex Rebels this Sunday (8th March) at JFK School in Hemel, tip off 2pm.
