Storm Women overcome Phoenix to move third in the table!

In a showdown of skill and determination, Storm secured a remarkable victory against East London Phoenix last Saturday, marking their 6th triumph of the season. The game unfolded as a testament to Storm's resilience and strategic play.

Storm stormed into the match with an aggressive start, immediately taking control and denying Phoenix easy baskets. The first quarter concluded with a score of 19-16 in favour of Storm, showcasing their early dominance.

The dynamics shifted in the second quarter as Phoenix intensified their 3-point shooting, while Storm faced challenges in converting promising opportunities. Phoenix rallied in this quarter, resulting in a tied score of 32-32 as the teams headed into halftime.

Phoenix increased their defensive pressure in the third quarter, capitalizing on turnovers to secure fast breaks. However, Storm responded with strategic defensive reads and a change of pace, leading to another tied score of 42-42 by the end of the third quarter.

The final quarter witnessed Storm's determination to clinch the win. Emily Taylor emerged as a standout performer with her impressive 3-point shooting, contributing significantly to Storm's offensive drive. Storm's defence shone through, preventing Phoenix from narrowing the gap. The quarter concluded with Storm securing a decisive victory with a final score of 67-54.
