Daryl Craine – Guard
Daryl started his basketball career as a junior on Merseyside before moving to the University of Hertfordshire where he captained the team from 2009 – 2012. Since then, he has played for West Herts Warriors in the Herts Premier League and in EBL Div 4. Daryl is a tenacious defender and also gives us a dependable outside threat offensively.
Nick Allin – Point Guard
Nick returns to Storm having previously spent 7 years in our junior and senior teams. As a junior he was a regular in County and Regional teams, captaining the East Region in 2015. He made his debut for Hemel’s senior team at the age of 16 and has developed into a highly accomplished and composed point guard. Despite still being very young his skills and experience will be invaluable to Storm’s second team.
Mike Coumas - Centre
Mike played his junior basketball for Essex & Herts Leopards before moving to Liverpool John Moores University where he captained the team from 2013-2015. The self-proclaimed ‘Original Greek Freak’ cites Steve Darlow as his favourite player and claims to be one of the few people who can pronounce Giannis Antetokounmpo’s name correctly!
Not the tallest for his position but he more than makes up for this with pure physical strength. As you would expect Mike is a strong rebounder and post player but he also brings leadership to the team along with an infectious enthusiasm and winning mentality.
Shaun Allin – Guard/Forward
Shaun played one year in Storm’s junior programme before heading off to University at Loughborough. He helped the Riders second team achieve promotion to EBL Div3 in 2015 and in 2016 he captained the team to victory in the Midland’s Conference Cup. Shaun is a versatile player who rebounds well and can play inside or outside offensively.
Ben Pearce – Guard/Forward
Ben’s junior career took him from Essex and Herts Leopards to a starting position at Oakland’s Academy and a spot on the Deng Top 50 camp. Since then he has played National League basketball for six years at Ware Rebels, West Herts Warriors and Cambridge Cats. Ben’s speed and willingness to run the floor makes him tough to stop in the open court and he combines this with good finishing at the rim. Additionally, Ben gives us another three point threat.
Dominic Charles – Forward
Dominic was a late starter in the game but has developed into a powerful player who brings aggressive defence and rebounding to the team along with assured finishing around the rim. His career to date comprises stints at Bristol Storm, Bristol Flyers Academy and West Herts Warriors.
